paint on scooters

What kind of paint would you use so the paint actally stays on...if your spray paint it just flakes off

if there's a thread on this..I'm sorry..I did look

Here are the steps you must take to paint a scooter.

1. Sand (Heavy Girt) the entier parts that you are going to paint.

2. Spray Paint one coat of primer on the parts and let it fully dry.

3. Repeat step #2 for a second time.

4. Spray Paint a coat of the color you want to paint. Let it dry.

5. Repeat step #4 for a second time.

6. Spray paint a coat of clear coat on the parts. Let it fully dry.

7. Repeat step #6 for a second time.

This may be overkill but it works like a charm. Sand hard, paint a ton.

what i did on my fork is pretty much what conor does.
1. sand the hell out of it
2. prime it
3. 3-4 LIGHT coats of paint (many light coats come out better than 1 heavy coat
4. if i had clear coat i wouldve clear coated.

also a few tips, READ THE CAN, there is usefull information. follow the intstructions and it will come out good. dont get an inch away and just hold the can in one spot and let it get all piled up and drippy.

I painted my bars and sr fork today and I put 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint.
I used white primer and floresent orange paint =]

^^ It's well worth the money. BEAUTIFUL color selection, high pigmentation, high & low pressure cans. ill paint man. Belton molotow is great as well. if you want decent paint thats not expensive, get some Rusto (Rustoleum for all you non-graffiti kids.. which is proabably all of you.)

Rustoleum, American Accents, and Painter's Touch are good.

Anything made by krylon is piss in an aerosol can. Don't use it.

By the way , what's primer? I tried searching on google but don't really understand what they are saying because they go into details maybe scooter riders will know how to use 10 words and explain it all.

Primer is a primary coat of paint that is usually light gray or white. It's used to bring out the color of the paint you're using more, and to strengthen the bond between the paint and the object you're painting.
