I own SR.
You don't have to but you really don't need it anymore after you lock your folding mech so you can take it off if you want.

i take it off because when you tighten the bolt it pinches the headtube better and the is not movement at all so you can use 2 bolts instead of 3

it is a good idea because it puts alot of stress on your mech once you bolt it. it also may cause your stem to get loose.

sweet ya some pcitures would be cool i still dont' see how they are going to work but i kidna got a image is liek goign to be the same style as raising handlebars but more detailed?

I don't think its needed. I still put it though. It makes me feel safer.Like if your locked mech does something bad , it might go forward and shit. Ahh I don't know. It keeps the mech together shit I feel. I might be wrong though. Do what you want.
