Even if we do get rid of the whole BS system, the problem still remains.
What we need is a tighter democracy, where the majority really doesn't rule and decisions are made based on the effects it has to the country and not the particular belief systems or opinions of even the biggest majorities.
For example, abortion. Let the abortion industry run as if it's another retail outlet, tax the shit out of it, and we have a very good source of income for the economy and a way to keep the population lower, make abortion illegal and we have 1.3 million more people every year and lose a ridiculous amount of money.
Im trying not to mention religion but it's really hard not too when it's literally one of the biggest problems in america today.

i never said getting rid of the two party system would solve anything, its just another tool used by the government to keep us fighting. like many democrats and republicans share the same ideas but dont realize it because they are suppose to hate the other guy. its only the first step to resolving our problems.

The problem is that the American congress is a broken system. They emphasize compromise, but either side can just say no to anything the opponent tries to put forward. And compromise isn't the best solution either. If one side has a great idea, and the other has a downright shitty one, meeting in the middle isn't the best solution.
