Question on cutting a District DK-2\v2i

So, I got my dk-2 and have been riding it for 2 weeks(I had RUP before), so far I feel like it's not whippy enough(length), although I like the footroom and the feeling for single whips and everything else(except >1 whips), I lost 180 dub whips flat and halfcab dub whips, maybe not irrevocably, but today I took my mate's RUP and it contrast with v2i it's so good for that.
and now I'm thinking about cutting it a bit, to like the length of BenJ Friant's signature dk-2
+the deck will tend less to bananaing

should I or after all I'll probably get used?

if I cut, how do I extend the brake part of the deck(halfcircle) (as neatly as originally)? -this is the main question

the decks are Aluminum- relatively easy to cut

Wax the blade, it will "lubricate" the blade and make it easier to cut the AL

Rough cut with Coping saw and then finish with a hand file

If you have access to a mill, it will make cutting the slot for the wheel/brake much easier/cleaner. If you are relying on just hand tools, a hacksaw is your best bet. It will give you a much straighter cut than a coping saw.

wait, i don't get it.

do you cut the end off, then drill new holes and cut the brake part back farther too?

Before cutting anything, measure from the end of the deck to the START of the semi-circle the brake fits into, and from the start to the 'top' of the semi-circle. This way you dont have to make guesswork when you need to extend the wheel/brake slot. The first cut you'll make is how much shorter you want the deck to be. Then cut out to the right mark for the wheel and brake slot, then use a rounded file to slowly work the semi-circle back into the deck to the other mark you'll make.
Bit of a diagram to show what measurements you need:

Also BEFORE CUTTING ANYTHING measure the distance of the axle hole from the end of the deck aswell as the bottom or top of the deck. If you can use a drill press, please do. You want perfect results with the axle hole.

As for the dropouts, they really only need to allow the axle to be taken in and out, so really you dont need to reshape those. However if they're likely to bend up with your riding, cut them so they dont have any tabs at the end of the deck.

Hopefully the shit my brain is coming up with makes sense on your screen haha.
