NOOOOO, make a shim that has a slit the same size as the slit on your bars but that's super long. Get a three-inch shim or more and your bars shouldn't snap like that. I used the bottom of some Razor Ultra Pro bars, cut them to size and made a slit.

This is win, im gonna make a shim that is around 4 inches long if I ever chooses to use HIC
