riding backwards

make sure that you get into it clean or you will most likely off set you balance fast. when riding fakie try to stay balanced over the center of the deck and keep the handle bars as straight as possible.

when you get into it make sure that you 180 straight. you dont want to land sideways or anything. i know cause it used to happen to me. also make sure that you dont hit the brake when riding fakie. bad things can happen.

try and do it wiht one foot sorta like training wheels but with your foot so you can put it down erverytime you need to stop. But work your way up gradually work your way up to useing two feet.

I've found it easier to learn fakies by riding slowly up to a ramp, and then just riding back down it backwards. Just don't go to high otherwise you'll go a little too fast and end up probably falling.

haha. i remember, on numerous occasions, we put a big orange barrier by the a kicker at my skatepark, so i would try to 180 it and i would land on my brake and just end up falling reeally hard.

Haha thats a classic fakie bail, I had one when trying to 180 a 5 set; land on the brake to run back to literally slide away on my ass, actually it felt nice cause the surface was good, which is not a common thing in Poland.

Haha cool.

I dont really think anyones given this advice but its kinda hard to explain so try and beer (is that how you spell it or is it bear something :(( lol) with me.

What I did was as someone else said "180 smooth and sexy" and that really helped (Means jump high and dont spin really fast. Once I could do that the problem was keeping the fakie going. What I did was sorta hop up and down on my frount weel. Like for example on skateboards how the go and lift the frount trucks off the ground and move it side to side (usally to gain speed). It helps you learn to fakie but it does look ugly and isent the best that will only help you learn it not do it.

;) Hope this helps. If you dont understand me just PM me or something.

well it would probably be easier if you started off in the fakie position, then push off with ur foot, when you are going backwards make sure you are kind of wobbling your front wheel from side to side cos that really helps to keep going straight

ive found starting out by pushing into fakie with one foot is harder than 180ing in or something, for me just make sure to land as straight as possible when you first get into it, i lean a little bit forward and try to make faster turns, like when i feel off balance ill make a quick little cuve to get back on, instead of a slower wider turn

umm.... well a good way to start is when you start to fall one way hop your back wheel up slightly to re-correct yourself.... thats the way i learned and starting by 180ing into it makes it hard to learn, if you havent yet try rock to fakies(on a wall or something) to start first its alot easier than 180ing or pushing to start....

well i learned my fakies (not the ones with the humpty-hump i posted in september) with two feet, and ride till i fell over or had to put my foot on the ground but i did them rolling up a ditch a little or quarter and start rolling down backwards OR do a straight stall to a ledge and hop out to fakie.

Yeah, pushing off with one foot is lots harder.

I do nose pivots into fakies now, and I've gotten better at those than 180'ing, but start off 180'ing into them. I find that steering is good when doing a fakie, just don't steer too hard because then you'll do some sort of tank slapper and mess up. So steer nicely.

yea, dont learn them like that, youll just make a habit of it and your fakies will suck..if you lose your balance steer to recorrect it, if it doesnt work then just step off and try again
