So the motherfuckers at Root Industries have been treating us the past couple of years. i copped like 4 sets of the revolver wheels for cheap and they lasted me for 110mm to about 90mm but i decided i wanted to freshen up. if y'all know the setup that gets the girls panties wet, you gotta be running dem 125mm thom cats. so with this in mind i went looking for my new roundies. looking at the selection on most scooter sites, all of the 125/120 wheels are from brands that are shitty, or the prices are just too. fucking. high.
now, i know what youre going to say: "oh but joelan you sexy thing, didnt you know that root have been making the royce king 125mm for ages now" and i would reply "shut up bitch get back to sucking ma dick, them shits are ugly af, performance aint everything or id have a fat skank and not you here". To get to the point: the hollowcores are 120mm and have a standard design from a decent brand. Thats all i was asking for guys!
now hollowcore eagles had a bad time from what i remember but with brands like elite and roots trying to push this method again i thought id try them out. straight out of the box they felt nice. well made and perfectly finished, but not that much lighter for you weight freaks. i will update if they buckle on me like everyone on this forums respect for me when i post this but whatever, this place is dead anyway.
these shits are pretty as fuck. i know alot of you guys arent on that neochrome hype but tbh the finish on these are pretty sexy. they have your regular max peters neochrome rich kid colour but also have fucking blue ray tron shit going on looking like some fish you would find living off a strippers vagina like a fucked up kangaroo kinda deal in its pouch and shit. they also have rasta colourwasy just incase your blunt and backwards snapback wasnt potent enough to scare the church goers away you scooter ass riding renegade.
anyways i got a black set to reflect the darkness that eats away at my heart everyday for not listening to my mum and buying a skateboard and being a disgrace to my family and everyone around me, but shit at least i can do a footless right (take that plank pushers (wait why am i proud of being able to do a footless(why the fuck am i talking to my self(who am i writing this for(why are we even here(was it really legitness?))))) and i threw them shits right on my scooter. the hunk of metal and rubber was considerable cheaper than most hunks of metal and rubber i could find so i was throwing my stack in the air when these arrived. i payed £50 for two wheels shipped which isnt too bad saying i know kids that still pay £70 for grippers. thats with bearings you cheapskates!
so, i hit up Flo skatepark in Nottingham UK (shoutout you guys are tightttt) and have a tasty bowl session, not a lot of difference yet which i thought was weird but whatever. i could feel the size difference when airing and popping off of coping felt very different but that may have been partially due to me getting used to riding 125mm forks with 110mm wheels so the balance was slightly off. not much speed difference from my old wheels which i thought was odd...
anyways so im cruising as you do and i go to do a fat ass board to heel off this rail that might as well been your bitches spine because they both looked the same when i was finished with them, and i look down admiring all the hopes and dreams of the park rats were going to show me up because they had apex bars and my back wheel isnt spinning!
out comes the socket set because something isnt right here. untighten my back wheel so it still has no movement in but doesnt have the tension of your bitches jaw around cock and viola, it spins! now i want to see how good these guys really are so i head over to the volcano (and i hate volcanoes) and have a chill sesh pumping and getting some smooth air. drop in on the vert and i swear im flying. literally the size change and bearings got me at least 2 more foot of air over the volcano and when airing and i can slide for days with little effort on the bowls coping now.
