Scootering on Wikipedia

Hey guys, I found your handiwork on Wikipedia...

Now, there's a bit of a problem. If pretty much any other editor stumbles onto the page, it's going to be nominated for deletion faster than you can blink, mostly because of a rule called "notability". There's a few things we need to do to stop that from happening:
  • Cut the bullshit like "Brian Murphy is the best rider ever". It may be true, as he is fucking amazing, but it's not really mature or appropriate in an encyclopedia. It also breaks Wikipedia's "Neutral point of view" policy.
  • We need SOURCES, big time. This is the reason we'd get deleted. If we don't have multiple sources of information that are independent of Scooter Resource, we're not notable enough to have an article. We can still use Scooter Resource for a few different claims, but not as a sole source of information. Stuff we could use include Razor's RVMs, GrindTV's coverage of scooters, or anything "notable".

So yeah. If you guys want this to happen, we're going to need some work. So let's find some sources and shit so that the best action sport can be in the best encyclopedia!

After reading all of it, its not that bad.
But true, if we could just stick every scooter website down the bottom it would give it more chance to survive (e.g links to frenchiD weescooters etc.)

When I say sources, I mean like newsworthy places and shit. Stuff that indicates we're important and not just a few hundred guys on some website. TV stories, the GrindTV coverage of the SC demo, etc. would work.

Eh, Ive written the first version and now I hate seeing how it's being constantly ruined by losers. To the guy who made this thread - quit the 'we need to do' attitude, this is Wikipedia so you just push the button and you can fix the stupid shit someone wrote in the article in a minute.

that article was horrible. buff or steven or someone should write a good one
I was going to edit it awhile back but I don't have enough time to make it good right now so I rather wait until I can really spend a good amount of time on it. Steven could definitely contribute a lot.

lol we're not important, we are just a few hundred guys on some website.

the tricks part should be deleted, everyone knows what a no hander is and nobody does half of those grabs anyway. not to mention all the spelling/grammar errors toward the end of the section.

Whos "typical Freestyle Scooter" is that?

Alisha Ripoll's. Looked ordinary to me, even though as I now think of it, it's not that typical since most people ride pro models, not old as.
