Scooters and Flying

Tomorrow night I leave to New York City for spring break and I'd really like to bring my scooter. I've never brought my scooter on a plane so I was wondering if anyone has, and would share their experiences. I am just worried my 18 wide bars won't fit through the security tunnel thing, and that they'll think my scooter and tools are weapons and take them away. Thanks!

Id just take it...im sure there is some way to take it on the plane. It might cost you though.
You could just call the airline and ask them....

you cant bring it as a carry on. you have to put it in the luggage that goes under the plane, thats wat i did for woodward

yep u have to check it. which depending on the airline your flying cost 20 bucks or free

I took mine to Arizona but i didn't take it as carry on i had to pay 50 bucks to bring it because my luggage weighed so much

suitcase. if going with family put bars in one with your clamp/compression
deck fork wheels in another if you bring two suitcases. whole lot easier

When I got back from US there was a letter in my suit case to say that they had searched it, but everything was still there.

You have to check it, depending on the airline and your status it will either be free or $25. It will most likely be $25. I bring my shit everywhere, so just check it and it will be fine.
