Scooters in DEWTOUR

well in case you missed it last year there was a big Extreme sports event in Barcelona (extreme Barcelona) and it was presented by Mountain Dew. now this is pretty much a test strategy by the company to see the the outcome and hype generated by scooters, which was pretty great, the scooter event filled up the stadium! heres a link to the highlights

Now, although the turn out was great its not gonna be an easy move into the mainstream simply because the BMX and skate companies fear the take over of the scooter scene, sure skating and bmx are fun to watch, but a dude on a scooter flipping around while the scooter is spinning would a mind blowing experience to someone not familiar with the scooter scene, which would also encourage even more kids to pick up scooters over your standard Bike or board, so as you can imagine the bike/skate companies have it in their best interest to bash on scooters and down talk them simply because they know once kids see the possibilities of scooters they will pick one up.

DC shoes is already on the bashing campaign with the whole Wes Kremer campaign. many other skate companies also post videos to ridicule scooters, because they fear change...

Cant really blame the poor saps they need sales to feed their families...

Anyways, like skating in the early years received hate and ridicule, so must we, HATE is a good thing, it means your doing something right! lets see what this years Extreme Barcelona holds!!!!

^this street elitist attitude poisoned the sport
I don't try to be a street elitist, if anything I would consider myself a park rider. I am just saying that those kids are generally quite misguided. I understand how when entering the sport these kids only see the "big guys" (Funk bros, J Clark, Kota etc) but others exist. I feel that only seeing one side of something generally sticks your head pretty far up your ass, and these kids only see those guys. I can back to back, enjoy some whippy flippy park stuff from Dylan Morrison then enjoy Jordan Jasa's Tilt 2 part, I feel like the "park rat" and "street elitist" types are both misguided. Maybe I have my head up my ass about this, if have fun and ride your damn scooter is an opinion that would be considered a head up the ass type of opinion, I don't know, maybe. And to clear all of this up more concisely, I am not a fan of "mightier than thou" attitudes I get from most park riders and SMX supporters (and street elitists too), but I still respect you if kicklesses and bris are your favorite trick, or fullwhips and 50 50 grinds, just don't be ignorant and have fun riding your two wheeled metal object.

EDIT: Yes I worded my previous responses wrong.

it warms my heart to imagine Tony Hawk watching scooters, cause hes extremely intelligent and i am sure hes sees all the vids on youtube and insta, (since he makes games and such, he has to keep up with all the latest trends) and he sees the similarity of how we are being hated on such as the skate scene was in the early years, also we are doing/inventing insane tricks as he once did, OOOOHHH WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS!!!!!
