scooters in x-games 2012

according to scooter huts facebook page, they say scooters are officially in the x-games starting this year =)...discuss?

i mean it has its pros and cons but imo i think this is a huge step forward

It could work well. People are definitely making it out to be a bigger deal than it is, on both ends of the spectrum. But in the end, the sport is still too young for full X Games coverage at this point in time.

Scootering is way to small of a sport for the X games.

We as a sport are not ready yet. The X games are just going to make scooters look not impressive compared to bmx and skating, which are much more developed. Maybe in about five years the sport will be able to be taken seriously enough.

well think of it compared to the skaters part in the xgames...the skaters dont have as big features to the park as the bmx riders cause on a bike you are able to gain more speed. plus there are riders willing to ride the mega ramp which would also make the sport look a little better.

You guys need to chill out. Did you see the pro runs at sd6? Kota is a machine and can easily make people take scooters seriously. You guys may not like his "style", but he is ridiculously good and consistent. This isn't a bad thing.

I dont see how a styless 5 foot 5 freckled leprechaun in a juggernaut suit with plaid shorts is going to make our sport look good.
