Edit: Scroll down for updates!

Alright, as some of you guys may know I have been working on part designs for a while, and IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢ve been meaning to post stuff about them for quite a long time. I wanted to show you all what I have and I want to post my designs before someone else posts similar stuff then claims I copied them when I post mine. I also want to hear your questions/insults/comments/advice/general feedback about this stuff. so yeah, hereÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢s some info about my little parts project. the "company" is called SOLID-STATE. Its all still in its very early stages and really nothing is certain at this point but if all goes as planned I will eventually have get a site up and sell parts. Most of them will be custom made to order and have a lot of options. Naturally it will be completely NOT FOR PROFIT and I wonÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t be advertising or selling anything on through the scooter resource. This thread is not about advertising. I have permission to make this thread; so donÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t bitch at me about it.
IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢m working on new designs and innovations for almost every part. All of the designs I'm posting here are in various stages of development and its gonna be a while before anything is actually made. I'm going to shoot for having stuff by late spring, but nothing is written in stone. Again, I want to make it clear that these are all pretty early and rough designs that will be altered and improved. Generally, if something looks weird, weak or not right; its not gonna to stay like that. A lot of details are left out of these pictures and not everything is exactly to scale, though I try. They were made in sketchup so they are suck.

Anyway, here ya go:
Deck, this is the basic deck concept I have, but there are a bunch of possible variations/versions that I have in mind. Its pretty straight forward.

edit, October 18: decks will most likely be completely custom and made to order with tones of options and sizes to choose from. I was thinking about this idea, and someone mentioned it, so yeah, this is one variation

forks: I have a bunch of fork concepts, the sketcups are not done for one of them. here are the two I have
1. the "pipeline" fork, will be made of thick chromoly pipe and such. Edit; this was though of, designed and posted before the take2 fork, so donÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t even start. Its not really that similar anyway.

2. the "cheese fork". because it has holes in it. hah bad name. its aluminum. and needs a few design changes.

Theres another fork IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢m working on, its designed with a system to mount an optional front brake. No pics yet.

EDIT: UPDATE

more parts:

brake springs

IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢m going to have some custom springs made for brakes. they will be double torsion springs and I will get a few different kinds with different levels of resistance. I couldn't find good pictures, but double torsion springs look generally like this:

Of course the ones I have made will not look exactly like those, but you get the idea. im researching what companies can do exactly what I need, IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢ve been shooting around emails and such. when I get it figured out I will post more. Its annoying.

clamps
I found some companies that make clamps that would be perfect for bars. im going to bulk order a bunch of styles/materials/finishes. And maybe get some custom ones. they look something like these:

more update, October 18:

well its been hard to find time to update this because of all my school work, but nowthat I have a minute I decided to update this. im still working on r&d, the project is still alive and well. I have made minor changes and improvements to most of the designs, but its not worth posting all new pics to show them. If all goes as planned (which it probably wonÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t) I would like to have ride-able prototypes and a site up by spring 2009. and maybe have some basic things for sale. Idk. DonÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t get your hopes up. Also, in light of recent events (eaglesport and such) I just want to again say that this is all non profit and I do not entend to take business away from anyone. If I was after big money, I would not be in the scooter parts business. I am doing this because I want to help the sport that I love.

Now, even more parts

Reinforcements:
IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢m not going to make square reinforcements because alex is already doing that. I am going to make a lot of different kinds of reinforcements though. steel strip, aluminum angle, full aluminum channel, foldy reinforcement plates, dropout reinforcements for old As, and a few other things are in the works. These will probably be out sooner than other stuff because they are cheep easy to make.

old a reinforcements: i put these together in like 5 minutes with scrap i had lying around. they are sketchyly made, weak, and quite different from anything that i would try to sell. i just wanted to show where they would go and and the general design. the production ones would be made properly and have small bends to fit the dropouts. they would look a lot cleaner and be a lot stronger. i almost didn't even post these because they suck. but whatever.

Foldy reinforcement plates (rough shitty sketchup)
Picture%20136.png
Picture%20137.png

these will be made of steel and come in a bunch of versions for different headtube angles/bolt sizes. they can attach to just the foldy, to the deck as well as the foldy, or the deck, deck reinforcements and foldy.

the other reinforcements are pretty self explanatory.

Headtubes/necks: maybe. You know how old a headtubes are better? WouldnÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t aftermarket ones be even gnarer? Like with different angles/lengths and possibly some for integrated headsets. Idk.

Metalcore wheels: maybe eventually. IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢m not even close to being there yet. When/if they ever do eventually get made, they will most likely look like this,
Picture%2032.png

I really only made that model because I needed something to make sure wheels fit in the forks.

In case you were wondering, IÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢m not going to make bars; for now at least. There are a lot of companies making them already, so I donÃ?Æ?Ã?¢Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¡Ã?¬Ã?¢ââ?¬Å¾Ã?¢t need to.

little things/accessories:
once up and running i will have a bunch of small cheep (unnecessary ---) and goodies also. kits of high strength nuts bolts and washers, custom graphic/shape grip tape, custom bar ends, stickers, shirts, bearings (?) and maybe foam & coated foam grips. i will also have pegs, spacers, stencils and modification kits (wheel dyeing kits and such). and other random shit. maybe custom bandannas for bars? idk i just thought of that one... prolly stupid...

oh, i also have a brake design in the works.

mini-edit: October 20th
i might also make is camera handle things.

mini edit
decmeber 8th

preview/sample of a few shiny things
big roll of griptape, alu angle and steel strip reinforcements, foldy bolt kits, clamps.
the reinforcements have an extra hole in the middle for another bolt just for extra tank-ness. i like em like that, but production ones might not have it if other people dont. the clamps are different from the ones that would be sold, i just got these to see if the fit properly and stuff. the ones i sell will be a lot better and kinda different. im working on a lot of stuff, more updates in the near future. jesus christ i have a lot of boxes of bolts (not shown obviously)

hey have you actually made any of them yet, because if you have post pics, like of a prototype because the stuff all looks good, but are the bars one piece or can they be moved up and down, either way it's good, I just can't tell from the pic

your not supposed to have seen the bars pics yet, but they are adjustable hight bars. the yellow clamps indicate that they will be different, the clamp will not be buff like. they also have an internal locking system that i will explain tomorrow. i might make one piece bars too, but idk. i have some designs. also, none of these are made yet. all i have are cad files, drawings, numbers and cardboard prototype models.

That deck looks way sick, I like the way that it has multiple tubes off the headtube, like a bmx.

Idk how practical it is however.

The cheese fork looks like it won't be able to spin all the way around... hopefully it can.

Good luck making them. :)
