yes. it was really hard for me to get mine in. just get a socket that fits around where the threads are in the middle of the star nut and pound the shit out of it to get it in then use a bigger socket to straighten it.

Dudes. You gotta take it easy. I've installed starnuts into 7 bars and haven't messed up any of them.

You gotta take it easy, not pound it crazy. If you pound it as hard as you can, you will bend the starnut or even break it.

It takes time, just pound it a little so the flangs will bend a bit till the front star gets in first, and pound it just a little bit forward with each hit.

In case if needed, stick a bolt into the starnut and see if it's straight, if it's not, then take the bolt out and pound the starnut's edges which needed to get it straight.

It'll take time but the result will be perfect :)

take a hammer and hit the ends of the first star so the bend a little bit, and so they'll fit into the bars better.

then, use a bolt that fits through the hole, and hit it in with that. once you cant hit it any farther with that, use a socket bit to hit it in the rest of the way.

That thing might still be usable, try and bend the flanges back and re-use it, even if its just to practice. And yeah like madis said, dont smash and beat on it, but also dont be scared to hit it hard enough to get it in.

Everyone saying how hard it was to install them made me weary of even buying threadless forks, but i decided to go for it, and it was the easiest thing i have ever done on a scooter. I had some problems getting it tight, but that was a headset problem. Shit, i'd rather put a starnut in than lock a foldy.

sounds like a bad idea, you could screw up the starnut threads

I don't recommend doing it that way but it does work if you are careful and make sure the bolt is screwed in all the way so the threads are bottomed out. If the bolt is loose in the threads then hammering will destroy it so it is kind of risky. It also help to SLIGHTLY pre-bend the flanges with a pair of needle nose pliers.

If none of that makes sense then go to a bike shop because they have tools specifically for this job.
