I was talking to Jon Reyes after i broke my reds and recently bought swiss bearings. He said he runs steel bearing spacers so that the bearings don't crush when you crank down your back axle. Anyone know where i can get steel spacers or dimensions for some at the hardware store? already broke 4 swiss and i want the next 4 to last for as long as my protos do.

...wait...people STILL don't run spacers?

Sheeit. Um, you can pick them up off any website, pull them out of any set of stock wheels...dunno the exact dimensions, though.

If your going to buy new wheels next month then just wait for that. They come with spacers or rampage has a ton of spacers in there free stuff bin just make sure that the axle can go through it.

Guys, I run spacers in my wheels. The spacers however, are alu or bronze or some other metal. I ran the provided spacers with my protos and they broke. I'm running the bearing spacer in the swiss package and theyre starting to break. Jon told me to get steel spacers, so they don't crush and keep my bearings from giving in to the pressure of my back axle.

the question is, can i get away with going to the hardware store for the same things so i don't need to spend 5 bucks on one credit card purchase?

Yeah, probably. Lowe's has drawers upon drawers of hardware, I'm sure if you bring them a normal spacer and say "I need this in steel" they've got them.
