Proto SCS Pros and Cons :
Pros:
SCS makes your scooter solid.
More durable than Invented or anything bar compression system.
Easy to switch Bars or Forks.

Cons:
Its like a brick (4 inches)
It'll add some weight to your scooter.
Might hit your shins.

To go threadless you would need :
A threadless headset (prefer a sealed bearing cartridges)
A threadless fork
A bars with slits.
Install the headset without stock razor locknuts.
The headset should come with everything you need, the only thing you won't is the spacers it comes with.

If only more people on this site were as nice as this.

^kids not 100% right. if your going inverted compression (threadless without brass knuckes) you need:

threadless fork
bars WITH slits and you will need to install a starnut in the bars
threadless headset (you take ur stock one out and install a new one)
a compression bolt (will come with most compression sets, bolt and starnut come with it)
and you will use your existing clamp

* you will need basic knowledge on how to install a starnut in your bars and how to install a headset

and if your going SCS (standard compression system) you will need:

bars WITHOUT slits (with no starnut)
threadless fork with a starnut in the fork
threadless headset
brass knuckes

*you will need to know how to install a starnut in your fork tube, you will not need to buy a starnut though, most threadless headsets come with starnuts that will fit in your forktube.

**there is an SCS video by Buff if your confused

pros and cons are obvious. scs is easier to do if your buying all new stuff. the only reason why people use Inverted Compression Systems is because they have bars with slits and starnuts and have had them before SCS came out. And people use ICS (inverted compression) if they are weight freaks/ dont like SCS/ are anti-proto buyers.

so pretty much a recap....SCS, if you are buying all new parts, will be more easy and more efficient than going ICS. You can go ICS, but it requires a bit more work when you want to take apart your scooter.

IN MY OPINION- everything else i wrote is fact. but my opinion would be go scs. And either ICS or SCS, buy from inward because they install starnuts for you without you having to email them about it.

haha idk why i wrote all this, but mods please lock this. and your welcome kid.

yeah erwins right! SCS is easier, but ICS is better cause its lighter. ( in my opinion)

you do not absolutely have to buy a new headset if you go threadless. im running a stock headset with my threadless sr fork and scs. it works great. all you need to make a stock headset work with a threadless fork, is another bearing race and a compression ring. bike shops usually have bearing races and compression rings just lying around and they may give it to you for free.

heres a pic of my scoot with the stock headset and threadless fork. and btw, it does not wobble one bit, it is very solid and smooth

even if you are using an inverted compression system do you still need a threadless headset?

Yes. Trust me, I put off getting a threadless headset and compression for so long, and now that i did it, it was so easy and is so helpful now.

That's wierd, my friend has SCS, bars without slits, AND a starnut...

You can use a starnut in your bars...but it would serve no purpous. The whole reason why SCS was made, was to eliminate having to use a starnut in your bars, and instead using a starnut in your fork tube.

With SCS, you can have slits, as long as you put a stock forktube inside them (so the slit doesnt contract) because then the bars would not tighten on the Knucke Clamp. And like i said, you dont need to take the starnut out of your bars if your switching from ICS to SCS, it will just not be used for anything.
