drill a hole through your steer and t tube at the right height and put a bolt on it. If you just want to get rid of the 'swinging arm' bit of the locking system on the clamp to stop you smashing your knees unscrew the bolt completely so the 'arm' comes off take the cylindrical metal bit out of it. Then put the bolt back in and put the metal bit on the end and tighten at the right height with an alen key

Yes, But remember to prill it so its not facing you because it will still hit you in the leg/s.

Scooter Mods: From Top to Bottom

T-Tube: If you want to save your knees a lot of pain, I definitely suggest this mod. Drill a hole through the t-tube and the handlebar tube, and bolt it with an A-model axle and washers, or whatever's around. Then remove the whole folding clasp part, (the sharp part that digs into your knee) and throw it violently into the trash. Note: Make sure the bolt doesn't point towards your knee or it defeats the purpose. Bolt it sideways, so your knees can't hit it.

yea as long as you bolt it like 2 or more inches from the top of the steer tube nothings going to be weaker..i would imagine bolting it right at the top the steer tube would snap easier becuase of the hole but not if its lower
