The "Help me get scooters into our park" Thread.

Thank you for your interest in using our Skate Park with your scooter. I do understand your frustration at not being able to use the park with your scooter. However, the safety concerns regarding scooters (and bikes) are collisions. Collisions at the Skate Park are common, and adding a scooter (the bar)-into the collision would cause more damage to the participants. Another issue is the facility maintenance. The Skate Park was designed for skateboarding and inline skating. The constant crashes from a metal scooter (or bike) would cause too much damage to the surfaces.

How the hell do I respond to this? This beast skatepark won't let scooters in and I've been working with the city for weeks trying to get them to let scooters in. Help me out here

A collision involving a scooter would be safer than a skateboard. In fact, while my scooter will simply fall flat on the ground, someones skateboard would fly up a ramp and break someones jaw. The chances of my bars doing damage to someone is less likely than the chances of a skater falling and breaking his leg. As far as park maintenance, how can you say that a scooter is going to cause more damage because it's metal, yet allow skateboards which use metal trucks? The constant crashes from metal trucks will do just as much damage. Go suck a dick you piece of shit.

thats what i do.. we arent allowed to legally ride in our park but when cops show up we tell them were going to just ride downtown. and they say well you cant, and i say i dont care

That's what I am doing as well. I'm literally doing rewinds off of city buildings. When I get yelled at I say," sorry scooters aren't allowed at the skatepark"

Before you guys start running your mouths talking about things that you obviously know nothing about, maybe you should consider the facts. Would you rather want scooter riders costing you guys real money when the police have to show up to different street obstacles because kids have nowhere to scooter? Also who are you to tell people who can and can't use the skatepark? Everyone pays taxes in the town, you shouldn't be telling people they cant use something, when it's their money that helped build it in the first place. The point of the skatepark is to keep kids off the streets, but obviously you don't care.

Open up the skatepark to whoever wants to use it or it's a pointless waste of money. Hopefully this doesn't go completely over your head.

Ummm, scooters are licensed under "Folding Skateboards" so legally your allowed in already, I double checked with 2 lawyers about this..

Jdude3: i go there all the time but im kinda getting tired of it. Also its only a half hour ride so its convienient for my parents. The only reson the city isnt letting me in is becuase they think scooters will increase the risk of collisions. Ive probably seen you there cause i go pretty much every weekend lol.
