How do they get the moving time lapse shots? Do they have a mechanized track so the camera moves very slowly or what?

There are a few ways you can do it that I know of, the first being on a moving mount with a programmable course (also used for long exposure sky/space shots), another being a large start frame and slowly panning to various areas within the video.

I bet there are more, but those are the two that I am aware of. However it is done, it's freaking cool. Here is a shot that was taken over 17 days, the mount moved for each morning to track the path of the sun accurately.
