It's not as big as in America or Australia, but definitely got potential and growing fast. Like 3 years ago I couldn't even imagine a specialized scooter shop existing anywhere in our country but now there are like five of them in Moscow. Last year we also became a part of ISA and held an awesome competition. Here's some footage from there:
Also it seems that the scooter scene here is a bit older than in Europe, for example. I've been to Finland this summer and it seemed like the average age of those riders is about 12 or so. In Russia it's probably 15-16.
The only moment that I personally find negative is lack of interest in street riding. In this matter I envy French and Finnish/Scandinavian communities which are abounded with all kind of street shredders, young and older.
