Its all about leverage, if you understand the basic concept of a lever, you'll understand why.
Lower bars = more control over the deck, in spins tricks, like whips and scooterflips.
Higher bars is easier to control the scooter in general, which is why most cruisers have high bars, adding the fact that high bars save your back from pain.

Yeah, low bars would make scooter/briflips easier because the scooter is closer to you when it's spinning around. That's why when people do flat bris they do them real close, not super far out, cause it's faster that way.

I just run taller bars cause it's way more comfortable, and a bunch of the stuff I do I'm standing up anyway, like manuals and fakies.

my brother has low bars and it make tailwhips and scooter flips easier. and he can almost dubble bri so i guess it makes scooter flips easier

I think the best height for bars should be anywhere inbetween 1/4 and 1/2 of the way up your thigh (from the knee).

One can bunny-hop higher because you have more room to pull up

also so that the T doesnt hit you in the Nads.....
...you're also less likely to snap your fork or t-bar

this is true. i also think that bar height is just as important, if not more important, to having good style as bar width.

completely true. that's why I gave that range haha, I think anything higher than that makes you look like eric rabl, and anything lower you're just completely hunched over and it's no good..

really low bars can make your riding sketchy and totally ruin your style if you arent good enough. same with really high bars. medium bars are what you want to go with.

i use to ride 19"s for awhile ... then i changed it to 22" and i found everything to be alot easyer.. im like 6 foot btw.... it depends wat u do tho.... but i reckon bars just below ur balls is a pretty good height (y)
