different urethanes. sliders are a harder urethane which makes it less likely to dehubb. gripper is just really strong. i suggest the slider

the gripper is softer...so it dont slide....slider is hard so it slides....for an exampl take a get your hand just a little sweaty(so its softer)and slide it across a table whith your whiaght on it, and a dice,do the same....ur hand should be harder to slide
