Why hasn't anyone done this?

Built in bearing spaces in wheels. We already have "self-centering" spacers, but why not take it a step further and just CNC spacers into the cores? I've seen some skate wheels that have them, why not scooter wheels? It seems stupid that nobody's even tried it already.

I know I meant how would it make the bearings harder to get out?

I don't even use a spacer everytime, they are pointless anyway lol

Without spacers, if you overtighten your wheel then the bearings are squeezed together. This causes friction/pressure, making them a LOT slower. It also causes pressure to the wheel and can ruin the bearing slots.

It's almost impossible to get a bearing out that has self centering spacer in it. The eagle bearing spacers with the big part to fit the core were terrible cause if your bearings got destroyed you'd need to buy a whole new wheel. Pretty bad idea.

That would deffienetly make it way harder to take bearings out. But i see what he means, I just dont see why its necessary. Is it so people that are lazy can just put there bearings in and not have to worry about the spacer?

Good to know so I don't over tighten my wheels.....

Blunt has the right idea of it with their new bearings. This isn't a good idea though. It would make it extremely difficult, if not impossible to get bearings out.

^^^ I was thinking that, I just jam an Alan key in once the wheel is in then push the axle through which pushes the alan key out.

Have I spelled alan key wrong?
