XT Headtube Design Fault

Hey all...

but i now belive that XTs suck.

I stupidly said:
"Lol ouch, fingers crossed mine doesnt snap."

And today i was riding my local park (usual junk, airing over the jumpbox landing surprisiningly smooth). And mine snapped. In EXACTLY the same place and way.

Anyway it didn't seem like rhyszilla got anywhere with micro but now i feel i'm going to kick up a fuss about it, as it's an obvious deign flaw and makes XTs USELESS after a month.

If anyone else has snapped in this way could they please PM me, or e-mail me: "jamscooter@hotmail.co.uk" < also my MSN addy, feel free to add.

And hopefully i'll actually get somewhere with micro because i loved them before today.

How is it that there more expensive model is a bigger heap? (i used to love my sprite re-inforced). I had that XT a month.

If any mods feel this should be locked because there's already a thread about it then feel free. And sorry for bringing it back up.

shame, i bet you're pissed since you were getting 1 piece bars and a better fork for it

Haha yeah my bars and forks come monday, it'll take weeks to get a new headtube. wish a razor headtube fitted. and wish they had a product recall when they realised (when they realeased the re-inforced headtube) rather than leaving me to land from 3ft on my pre-screwed knee.

Very. Even more-so since i've been on micro's site. They realeased a new headtube that is specifically re-inforced in that area????? and yet they didn't recall any? How is it micro can't do a product recall when proto can do them brilliantly?

Hopefully i can prove this is a design flaw, personally i feel the fact that they realeased a new headtube is a bit of an admittance of that.

And hopefully i can get them to re-imberse me/send me a re-inforced headtube.

Exactly, i think they need a full product recall on any XT sold before Feb 12th (when they released the new headtube).

Takes the piss that i bought a �£200 scooter and it snapped after a month and my old re-inforced sprite cost me �£150 and didnt break for about a year and a half.

It's a conspiracy.
Micro makes the stock headtubes to break quickly
then sells better headtubes with a better angle.

Thats pretty gay, i've never liked anything about micro except the metalcores.

@rob: not quite, they've put the new headtube on all their new models[apparently the new metalcores too?] (and slightly jacked up the price)...

@sam: i had a sprite re-inforced 3 and a bit years ago and it lasted for about a year an a half (much longer than any other i'd ever rode).

@arandomperson(like the name): yeah i'm pissed they didn't recall though =[

@sax: i had �£200 and i swear by micro.

@the rest: yeah i'm pissed the ---- off, if they don't offer me some form of replacement i'm going to be mailing them daily.

and sorry but i couldn't be bothered to quote (takes too much effort), so i just posted back to everyone haha =].

Still, i'm so pissed, just means i have to go back to my bike for a bit. Oh well.

i think in the mean time you should make your own headtube if you can, just get some steel man 200 euro is to much to just waste like that, i would contact micro and see if you could get a new one i think they would pull it

Haha, once i've gotten one reply if it's negative i'm going to e-mail them every day until something comes of it.
From different addresses etc. so they can't junk me.

And yeah i need a new headtube but making one is out of the question because i don't have welding rods or anything strong enough for me to trust.

i was just kind of curious so i figured i might as well just post it here.


why does micro bother putting the arrow on their forks when they have no offset so really it doesn't matter wich way they face?
