Victoria, that Ladera is a fun ride. I know the whole company and skate with em pretty frequently.

I used to be really into downhill.. Like motorcycle leathers and fullface. Top speed was 47 mph

Longboarding is cool. I'll get pics of my board, it's a Sector 9 Sidewinder series, pretty kewl. Do any of you longboarders do the "board dancing" stuff? Like cross stepping and all that?

Thats me. And yeah it was a race. His buddy is in a car following. He won though.

And to stop,

Couple things you can do.

Air Brake: Fully extend arms and gain wind resistance.. can slow down to about 25ish

Foot Brake: Take your back foot, perpendicular to your other foot/board and slide the sole of your foot on the pavement. Can stop completely but most people cant foot brake past 35.

Safety/Coleman/Pendy slide: tuck your back knee into your other leg (as if you're about to take a heelside turn) and put your glove to the pavement and whip your shoulders around to slide the board. Can slide to a stop within maybe 50 feet depending how fast you're going. Most people can't do them.

There are way more strange ways to do it.. much more dangerous.

Yea i love longboarding. I have the loaded vanguard and it carves like crazy and is so good at maintaining speed. to any one that longboard i strongly suggest getting some sliding gloves. You can do some pretty awesome slides and they are a lifesaver when needing to stop, or when you fall.
