breakdowns are the fucki shit first of all, and if u listen to the songs posted above and see how they sound similar, youll notice what is it, hereing the drum beat and guitar at certain times and rythym in the song, is the breakdown

You're just a hipster, breakdowns don't forward the progression of music, they only make more hipsters and scene kids like you. Join the fucking bandwagon. Unoriginal, you should listen to music that takes a decent amount of skill.

first of all rap takes the least of skill in music so stfu about that haha, and for your information i like alot of different types of bands and music, but i dont based my music off of talent it takes to make it, its all about what im hearng, i like alot of talented bands too, like suicide silence, there guitar isnt easy, vocals arent easy, drums arent easy, i also like august burns red, another band with a talented drummer and guitarists fer sure, and last time i check this is a breakdown thread, not a bitchin one so if you dont like breakdown, get the fuckk out then

Both of those bands suck, breakdowns still suck, metalcore/hardcore/grindcore still sucks. You can't base your entire opinion on a song about the whole 20 seconds it slows down so the sped kids in the ninja pit with fist sized gauges and fitted hats can swing their arms around. How about other 3-4 minutes of the song, that doesn't matter right? As long as there's that siqqqq breakdown, right d00d?

some of you guys are idiots. The fall of troy song posted is a good example of a breakdown. Rap music takes very little talent, i grew up with black friends who made great rap beats and music. One of my friends is recording with the original recorder of Mike Jones (houston rapper). And i can tell you they dont know how to play any instruments, but they can produce good music on frooty loops or whatever program it is.

Dude I was gonna write a big long fucking post to respond to this, but I just realized I can completely shorten it. You really fucking annoy me, and I hate your attitude. that first song sounded like someone trying to fucking arc weld my eardrums open, the second one didn't impress me. I don't give a shit about breakdowns and musical complexity, they're fucking annoying and it's a completely overblown topic for something that's unimpressive and offensive to my ears. I guess I'm an "idiot on the bandwagon" for saying that? Frankly, I do not give a shit about your subjective opinion on my taste in music, just because I don't agree with the tunes you like doesn't mean I'm wrong, and it doesn't mean I'm right. I stated my opinion, I still hate breakdowns, and kids that won't shut the fuck up about them still piss me off.

It's a JOKE band, obviously its not as technical as those progressive bands, but it goes to show that this style of music doesn't take amazing amount of skill. We wrote and recorded those songs in under a week. Ok, true, progressive bands definitely take skill, and an understanding of time signatures, but this kid is a hipster. Look at his counterexamples, ABR and SS, oh. I've never heard of those bands. I couldn't find their shirts at Hot Topic.

I do respect bands who can play music out of 4/4 time, but you need to understand that "hardcore" isn't the most technical and talent-demanding genre out there. Only using one string isn't very hard. The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Hayworth, and The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza are some all-time favorites. So don't hate, because I'm fucking sick of hipsters who have no fucking clue what real music is.

And don't ever fucking say rap doesn't take skill.
Lyricly, some rappers blow most shit out of the water.

But sellouts... yes, not a lot of skill there either.
