So you want to backflip?
Dont have a foam pit or resi to practice?
Alright, first up.
Get access to a trampoline, one your comfortable on. Maybe for extra measure get an old mattress to put on the trampoline to practice on to.
Even get a friend to help spin you, or spot you.
Get decent air, and throw yourself backwards/look backwards, and COMMIT to going straight over, dont hesitate. It's easy and you'll be fine. Dont worry about proper/techniques to doing them, you just want to get them and get comfortable with going straight over and spotting your landing.
Even try on a tramp scoot.
Once you have got that down, practice pulling yourself up into a ball, and just keep doing them tonnes to not be afraid and get comfortable.
Got that down? Good.
Now you want to take it to a scooter, cool.
Get a ramp/quarter whatever that you can get alot of speed to, one you use all the time and are comfortable, make sure its no too steep and doesnt have a big stick out coping.
Unless your really confident, your going to want to get spotters and/or a mattress.
Get some gnar speed, as soon as you leave the ramp, tuck yourself up and spin backwards and spot your landing, or the sky depending if you fucked up or not.
Even if you do fuck up, spotters and a mattress is a good double up so dont be scared.
Keep practicing them and, congratulations, you can now backflip.
