Go D90.

D5000 you have to have lenses with auto-focus motors in them, doesn't seem like a big deal until you forget that and want to use an older lens.
Also the D5000 cant use its pop up flash to control off camera Nikon strobes.

D90 on the other hand can and has built in auto-focus motor.

i belieive the d5000 is the new model of the d90.im not 100 percent sure but thats what i remember when i was shopping for my camera

D90's are better. Trust me.
But if its your first DSLR, get the D5000, because the D90 is a huge demand if you don't know how to use a DSLR's settings.
But if you think your up for a LOT of learning, get the D90.

nah i dont like cannon's so i guess ill get the d90 im still not sure haah also whats the best flash gun to get, sorrrry im not sure

alssooo im pretty tempted by the pentax K 7 and K 5, anyone know if there any good?

I do know the difference between Canon and Nikon.

I just don't like Canon, never have. I prefer how everything is setup on Nikon's, menus, buttons, etc.
