jw which is better d90 or d5000 i looked online but it came up with mixed results

d90's are sickk, idk about the 5000

Go D90.
D5000 you have to have lenses with auto-focus motors in them, doesn't seem like a big deal until you forget that and want to use an older lens.
Also the D5000 cant use its pop up flash to control off camera Nikon strobes.
D90 on the other hand can and has built in auto-focus motor.

i belieive the d5000 is the new model of the d90.im not 100 percent sure but thats what i remember when i was shopping for my camera

nah i dont like cannon's so i guess ill get the d90 im still not sure haah also whats the best flash gun to get, sorrrry im not sure

And to OP, if this is your first DSLR, go to a camera shop and test them all out.
Clearly you don't know the difference between Nikon and Canon.
