why expensive parts

i feel scootering is pretty much reserved for people with money. i am fine with my razor ultra pro. i dont have 250 for a phoenix. why would i want an 80 dollar compression set when my deck is 70 dollars. why would i pay 80 dollars for wheels when i payed 30 for my yak scat and they work fine. i use a double clamp with a single clamp off an old scooter It works fine.i use everything stock pretty much. why would i pay 60 dollars for inward T bars when my razor ultra pro bars work fine. i feel like other kids get everything they want and its stupid. Why pAY $700 when i can buy an ultra pro for $80. does anybody have any thoughts on this

that is true but i hate seeing people that arent that good yet with like 500 dollar scooters. if you are really good go ahead. but (no offense) i hate when i went to TIC there was little kids with REALLY expensive parts

Almost every sport is. The higher prices usually just mean better, stronger quality.
When I played soccer I had a $95 pair of cleats and tore them up in one season. Then a team I was on won a tournament and I got a $150 pair for free. They lasted me about 3 years, 2 seasons each year. Not scooters but same idea.

well i think its easier for me to do tricks on my phoeni instead of my ultra pro cause its wider and the headtube able is more forward like grinds, whip catchs, bas, an hang 5s are alot easier for me

beccause razor and madd gear are mass produced they wont have the quality of individually made or small time producers. defects could go wrong here and there. but if something is gonna be THAT expensive. its GONNA be worth it. ya know what im sayin?

Okay, I see what you mean but think about it.
You can get a bike at Wal-Mart for 200 bucks, or you can get a bike at an actual bike store for $2000.
People sell products for what they see is the appropriate price. More expensive parts will last you longer. You say you're fine with your setup, thats alright. But when you start to get better and better, you'll need more durable parts.
Every single sport is like this. In fact, everything is like this. Instruments, sports gear, cars, clothing. Stronger, longer lasting products will cost more.

There are 3 types of riders who buy expensive parts (ill base my examples on decks like you did). First, are the people who have been riding for a long time and have broken several other decks and just want something that will hold up to their riding. Second, are the riders who don't necessarily need the top of the line deck, but they like the way it feels when they ride and it has all the specifications they like in a deck. Finally, there are the riders who buy the most expensive parts with one thing in mind, to have the best parts. There are tons of beginners out there who have $500+ scooters because they like knowing they have the best parts.

I feel like as long as there are riders out there and companies making fantastic parts, who cares what people have. However I do think a lot of scooter parts are overpriced. haha.

expensive usually means stronger like everyone else said, and zach, whatever you said is complete BULLSHIT. A higher forward headtube angle would help you with whips? it would make it harder. and I ride a RUP, hang fives and barspins are the same feeling as if im riding my friends phoenix. and ive had mine since octobre. i dont get why people hate razor...

I mean obviously if my scooter is better, I'm better than you. As a person, not even in scootering. /seriousface

yea cause like i broke every part on my rup except the deck cause i traded it but, since i got my proto forks and sz bars and tsi deck and proto/eagle wheel i havent broken any thing in a while

uea jona its harder for me to whip your rup than my tsi

cuz the bars are extremely short and my scoot is about 5 pounds lighter than yours. If you're TSI had an 81 degree ht angle instead of 83, ill put money on it that it would be easier to whip..
and zach, its personal preference for the ht angle, but it seriously makes no difference on any trick. except whips.

It's all what you're used to. Coming off my TSI I adjusted to my nitro almost immediately. I thought I'd never ride a slack HTA after how nice my TSI felt, but now that I'm used to the nitro, I can barely ride a Phoenix, nevermind a TSI.

And whats really fucked is how we have to pay $200 for a deck, that may or may not last you long. Either way its expensive. BUT!you can get a bikeframefor $200, that i guarantee will last longer than a $200 scooterdeck, AND about 90% of bike parts now comewith a lifetime warranty, whereas i cant nameone scooter partwith a lifetime warranty. Can you?
