it basically is hic, but with some threads added so then it wont loosen up

scs is the best compression there is. its super dialed and super strong
what i dont like about hic is that there is a slit in the bars which makes the bars weaker and easier to snap, sometimes the hic shim can get stuck in your bars, your compression gets loose(tlc fixes this), and your bars can go crooked from time to time

I had an SCS, it wasn't that great. Way too complicated to tighten or adjust, plus lining up bars and fork with an SCS is an absolute bitch. It takes me about 30 seconds to fully disassemble and reassemble my HIC assembly. It would take at least 5-10 minutes to do the same with an SCS. And my HIC is more dialed than my SCS ever was. I had to adjust my SCS every week or two, or at least tighten it up. I tighten my HIC and it stays tight until I loosen it. Plus, you don't have to worry about breaking your bars at the slit. Buy strong bars, and use a clamp that goes above the slit. Like 3 people have broken their bars at the slits. If you start jumping 12-15 sets on a regular basis, then it might be time for an SCS just in case, because I mean SCS is a bit stronger. But normal riders don't even come close to pushing the limits of what HIC can withstand. Choose wisely.

lol. I owned two SCS on two separate scooters and never once had a problem because I grease the bolts before using them.

That being said I also have ran HIC on two separate scooters, and never had a problem.

In the end it all comes down to how intelligent the user of either compression is.

They're both great and far superior to ics.

Yeah HIC was great for me, i had to tighten it a bit, but it wasnt a bitch. My SCS has been great so far (2 weeks). Never loosened, or anything yet.

I just had problems with using a brand new top cap, it was a bit too big to fit in the SCS so when I tightened the bolts, it didn't tighten onto the fork properly, and I had to use soda can shims to get it tight enough that it wouldn't spin. I always greased my bolts. I just think it's a pain in the ass compared to HIC.
