aluminum slides a lot better, but it wheres done a lot faster to. its a softer metal
steel pegs will last you forever but they dont slide well unless you are grinding metal or a really buttery ledge

copings are steel

steel on steel coef of friction = 0.8

Alu on steel = 0.6

alu on alu= 1.1

lower coef = better slide

I'm from england, and I'm from walsall. and I doubt anyone gives a fuck about knowing it.

and yeah, stainless steel is much better for grinds dude to how long they last and how unsticky they tend to be.

aluminum wears in quicker and is therefore more sticky from my own experience making it better for stalls.

Steel slides faster than aluminum. People just think aluminum slides faster because aluminum feels more buttery. That's why you aren't supposed to grind aluminum handrails on bikes, because you can stick on and eat shit.

i care that your from walsall josh, i love your midland tones!

and peeps, the friction coefiecients say it all. alu on steel slides best, steel on steel slides ok and alu on alu is sticky as hell.

and its pretty obvious that alu will wear down quicker than steel

I was talking about concrete, but yeah, on steel, aluminum will slide the fastest. If you ride a lot of concrete ledges, I would definitely go with steel pegs.
