HIC vs scs

SCS is cute if you don't know how to dial HIC.

I hate SCS now that I've used HIC. And if people would make longer forktubes and longer HIC shims, they wouldn't break.

My forktube goes well over 3 inches into my bars above the slit.

Do you realize how impractical that is?

The only issue with SCS is that manufacturers do not know how to make bars and forks to the correct size. Like someone mentioned above, some forks fit loose and some fit tight. This will get perfected over time.

HIC hides the sizing issues by squeezing the bars smaller to clamp around the shim/fork. The slit makes the bars makes the overall HIC system weaker.

HIC > SCS, unless it's that gay ass Lucky plastic HIC shim. That thing never tightens enough.

And Colin, if you overtighten your bars just the tiniest bit in SCS, the bottom will bend/morph and they'll fall out. Then you're stuck with cutting them shorter, and having bars that aren't high enough. Happened to me twice.

i have HIC and have had it since like 3/4 of the way into october and it hasnt loosened once so i would recomend hic but my friend has scs and it comes loose after 10 mins of riding

it could be a stripped starnut in his forks or the bolt is too short. or when he used the coin trick to make the fork hole thing bigger he could have made it too big. or his bolts are stripped. the regular clamping bolts.

Lol Keon5 are you kidding me? If people made longer forktubes and shims for HIC less parts would break. The stress at the slit is almost entirely removed if the forktube goes another inch or an inch and a half above the slit. I've had my bars and forks for over a year now and not a damn thing has happened to them since (aside from me repainting them a few times.)

SCS works fine, looks ugly as sin, weighs more than HIC and makes bars only SCS compatible (unless you put a forktube in the bars).

HIC works nice, scooters look better, its cheaper, when done correctly it's more reliable, when done like I've done it it's pretty much indestructible.

i never had hic but i like scs because it stays mad tight and dosent break and you can use standard and over sized bars depending on the scs
