I know bones ceramic is better, but how much better? Is it worth the extra money, thanks, and only speak if you've ridden/have them.

Ceramics are faster, but when you're doing gaps and stuff they get damaged easier. So, just get reds. You won't really be able to tell that much of a difference and they'll last you longer.

Just use random ass old bearings man, once you wear em in, all bearings are the same. If you have any skater friends ask them if they have any old bearings. I have 1 ultra pro bearing, 1 abec-9 bearing, one random one, and a razor a model bearing, and they are all worn in, and my scooter is dialed, and they spin forever.

trust me bearings can make a big difference. ceramics are not weaker than reds at all its not normall ceramic i think its silicon nitrate or something which is harder that steel and ceramics last ages and are pretty much the best out there but are still way over priced. in good wheels bearings make a bigger diffence as in a slow cracked yak its gonna be slow no matter what but in an eagle or something the difference is much bigger
reds arent the best bearings and are over rated i think but are fairly good. bones swiss super 6 are supposed to be really good as they are only a bit more than swiss and are supposed ot be a fair bit faster but i dont know

i know the wheel has a bigger impact but the bearing can have a large affect and also some ceramics have ball bearings made of a material harder than steel, silicon nitrate i think and are better just over priced

what make?? if they were harder than steel (which they claim to be) why would they shatter. how much did u pay and is there a link to them so i can just see what they are like and loads of people claim that ceramics are harder than steel, eg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260823171...AX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_500wt_1127 claim ot be the hardest in the industry and are polished with diamond so idk maybe your bearings were poo or these arent really the hardest but idoubt it as they sell steel bearings aswell

Generally speaking, the harder something is, the more brittle it becomes. So to say something is "harder than steel" isn't saying a whole lot, because heat treated steel can push hardness of upwards of 55 Rockwell, which is pretty fucking hard but not extremely resilient to heavy impact. Steel can also be softer than aluminum, depending on grade. Essentially, things that are hard won't crush and mushroom, but with enough impact will splinter and shatter.
As far as the whole diamond polishing goes, all that means is that the ceramic is hard enough that it needs to be polished with something of diamond hardness, has nothing to do with the strength of the material.

the best bearing are by far bones super swiss 6. ceramics shatter, and reds are over rated. reds may seem great if you have never had better, bet when you try some super swiss 6 bearings you will be blown away with the performance increase (unless you have super crap wheels).

this. i used to be a massive fan of reds, but now ive realised that bearings do not make a major difference. sure, there is a difference but it is not massive.

Bones Swiss super 6 balls are the best bearings for scooters. I live by this statement.
im sure ceramics dont shatter, they arent made of your grandmothers crockery! but that much money for bearings is rediculous. i ride bearings that cos £4 a set (like $7) and always have done, but i have never had any problems keeping my speed up. and dont bother looking at abec ratings either i did the maths once and if your wheels where spinning at the revs they are rated at (20,000) you would be doing about 200 mph on a scooter.
if you need a bit of speed then maybe push the boat out on some slightly more expensive bearings, but i say keep your money and learn how to pump.

Just get reds or any bearings there all the same and work fine.
