Is it worth it? Because I just broke my SZ oversized clamp and I'm running HIC and only have oversized bars. Or shoul I get a half knuckle or proto scs. Thanks and the clamp was really old and I only weigh 110

What's up with all this Tilt hype? Like yeah, it's an SCS, whoop de doo. Protos are fine and work better, no spacers, and raise your bars more.

because hic is a simple reliable compression andd scs is expensive and just as good, tilt scs is absolutely amazing! but hic works well so why change?

HIC is not reliable, at all.

Tilt has the best quality control in the market right now, no exaggeration. The functionality and aesthetics of their parts is unmatched by any other manufacturer in the sport right now.

i've had both compressions, hic is simple and if you use the right parts then literally nothing can go wrong with it! scs is more complex and many more things can go wrong. i'm currently running scs and loving it but its higher maintenance and harder to assemble and repair

I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, but what makes SCS complicated to use? It is such a simple concept, and way easier to assemble than HIC.

Plus it it stronger, for a few reasons. There is not slit(s) in the bars to create weak spots, and there is not 'standard' for tolerances on the ID and OD of the HIC shim and handlebars, so many times these parts don't fit together right and then are just all clamped together and called 'good.' This makes both the fork and bar very prone to bending and/or snapping.

To fix the problems with HIC, there should be some standard that all manufacturers follow when making HIC components. This would make parts from various companies work together while getting rid of the slop and risk of parts breaking.

SCS for the win! It makes your bar stronger, because there is no slit. And, its alot easier put your bars in and tight your headset. Its worth of the prise. Tilti scs comes with 8mm hollow bolts, it feels alot stronger than normal clamp bolts.
