Very Important!!!!

Hey so I went to Woodward Tahoes opening day today. I knew that scooters wernt allowed but i wanted to talk to a manager to find out a real reason why. The answer he gave me was "that they just arent going to embrace freestyle scootering as a sport". He put scootering in the same catergory as snowskating, snow bikes and gymnastics. Which is BS.

So what I am doing is trying to get legit ideas on how to help them "embrace" scootering. What i want to do is possibly start a petition locally here in Tahoe, and throughout the scooter community. The prob is im computer illiterate. Not sure how to do the petition over the internet. I need some help from dedicated scooter riders that are OVER these type of problems.

I was also thinking about doing something like a protest. Peaceful of course. haha. We need hundreds of riders and supporting companys that would like to help. Theres no way they could say no if we are dominating there parking lot harder than anyone in there park. I can see it now, hundereds of scooters, mabye the Razor or MGP ramps so we can throw some real tricks, and picket signs.

It would also help if everyone who reads this would go on Woodward Tahoes facebook page and post something about why scooters arent allowed. Please be respectful. We dont want to represent ourselves as punk ass scooter riders. We must give respect to get respect.

Just trying to get the idea out and get your heads spinning on getting this problem solved. We will get embraced even if we have to force it on them.

PLEASE ADD YOUR INPUT.

I don't think a protest is immature if you can back yourself up. Go for it, man. I wish I was in your area to help.

Protesting wouldnt be immature at all. A protest is an expression of objection, by words or by actions, to particular events, policies or situations. Protests can take many different forms, from individual statements to mass demonstrations. Protesters may organize a protest as a way of publicly making their opinions heard in an attempt to influence public opinion or government policy, or they may undertake direct action in an attempt to directly enact desired changes themselves.

I guess nobody cares about scootering on this site. tisk tisk

I just opened up this thread and saw this post. I'm literally laughing out loud. I think I may put this in my signature even though I rarely post.

No one on The Scooter Resource cares about scootering.

That is a strange answer from a representative of a Sports camp that advertises:

"Camp Woodward is a residential Action Sports and Gymnastics/Cheer camp"

Contact Woodward West and find out how many Kids attended the camp over the Winter- 300+ I think.

Ya thats what I thought. but he said they were just emracing skis and snowboards (both with the Wheels), skateboards, bikes, trampolines, and tumbling. Not gymnastics. I asked what the difference between tumbling and gymnastics was and he had no answer. also asked what it would take to allow scooters and he kinda just smirked and said "your gonna have to go about it a different way", thats it. Not sure how I could do better than sitting down with him and the manager/ceo face to face.

If as many people helped with these proplems, as have viewed this post we might actually be making a change. So who actually cares? I know I do!!!!

aren't all woodward locations united? if one site allows scootering, they all should. but right now for some reason the west was a success and hopefully the PA site is too. pretty stoked on going this year and i hope it gets opened for all sessions. just my 2 cents
