Does this fix having a slit with an scs?

Im wondering if this fixes having to cut down my bars because i don't want to have to cut them.
I put a shim inside the bars so the bars cant close where the slit is. Will this work or will i just have to end up cutting them?

yeah it does, just make sure the shim is longer than the slit, my friend just snapped his bars today because the shim wasn't long enough.

i wouldn't trust that piece since it is thin Aluminum.

Use a peice of 1-1/4" bars that doesn't have a slit lol.

yeah best thing to use is a stock fork tube thats cut so its longer than the slit

I have standard bars and I used the lid off a coke bottle to stop my slits from closing lol. Just had to really smash it in so I doubt it will ever come out

What do you mean? Its worked fine the past few months I've had it in there and my friend did the same to his and it has been fine as well, it is literally jammed in so tight the slit has no possible way to close.
