Trouble with forks

Hi all, have been on here before but forgot my details. anyway I post on behalf of my son, we are building up a new scooter, phoenix revention deck, French I d forks, proto scs, and first time using scs, do you need to cut the fork steerer tube down as it seems to long? Looks to me like it needs to be cut back below the ridge in the scs clamp, is this right?

I'll try and get some pic up if I can.

Cheers.

You could cut it, or use a spacer on the fork between your deck & your scs to raise the scs up a tad.

I'd use the spacer rather than cutting it, & yes it needs to be below the ridge in the scs a little bit. Few mm depending on the top cap you're using

If the scs doesn't reach all the way to the headset cap like so :

Then you may need to run spacers like the black scooter has all the way to the right

Cheers for the replys everyone, will look into the spacer thing, although think I will need more than what's on the black scooter, can't believe how long these french I d forks are, and also need a smaller star nut and because of the thickness of the fork tube.
