Yeah, I'd say start to spin a bit before you whip the deck. I have the problem of whipping before I spin which causes me to under-rotate the 180 a TON. Just practice them more.
My sliders have lasted me over a year and are still going great. they've both got about 5-10mm of urethane left but they're just as hard as they were when I got them and are even faster now that there's less rubber to absorb speed. suuuuuuuuuper slide-y too, sometimes even too slide-y. I want more.
Getting the hang of peg nose manuals and double peg nose manuals or whatever the hell they're called... Still need to practice my nose tricks more though. had fun with them on flat for sure.
Of this I am aware. I reckon I'll learn peg-5s and shit before I even try hitchhikers.
That's what learning them is for!
