Grippers are fast and feel amazingly smooth. That's the biggest thing about them to me is how smooth they ride. Sliders are faster. Not quite as smooth but they are fast, EXTREMELY durable and overall better wheels. I've had issues slipping out on spins at my local park on the ramps but...

Sliders lasted me way longer than grippers, and I put a lot more stress on my sliders than I ever did my grippers. Once my sliders die I'll have had them for around a year and two months.
