usefull info for you, steel is 2.9 x heavier than alu
for alu you should get
3mm walls on steertube
4-6mm walls on crossbar.

I'm gonna go with 4130 Chromoly. So ID 1.125'' for Steer column and OD .875'' for Crossbar. How thick should the walls be?
BTW thanks Rob

Crossbar:
.875" OD, 0.065" wall

Steer column:
1.125" ID, 0.065" wall

Would this work?

chromeolly is just a fancey name for "alloy" yes those mesurements are fine dont forget the dropouts on the bottom of bars for your clamps.

if ur gonna weld it ur self u might wana research welding diferent types of metals certain types of metal use different tempretures and different wire speeds

its not really about research its just getting a few scraps of the material you are ganna use and test different setting and see what works out best.... and depending whether your ganna mig weld or tig weld it.... and if your ganna be using shielding gas or not
