You might try what Scotty did in the only clip ive seen of him landing some sort of frontflip off a drop. It was a tiretap to frontflip on a huge subbox into a quaterpipe. Doing a tiretap, as in jumping in and out of it makes it possible to begin forward rotation earlier.
