540s...

I think I might need help on them. I should be able to do them ages ago but one thing is that Im completely hopeless at spining. But the biggest problem is, after a few hopeful attempts yesterday something fucked up, and now I end up somehow like leaning forward and flying to the bottom of the pipe. Kind of like doing a mctwist. Or a flair? dunno. I said myself sometime ago 'no lame attempts on the bottom of the pipe', but now when Im trying to launch high I almost end up jumping from the top of the transition to the bottom onto my face. Does anyone have or had such problems? Any useful tips?

I own SR.
You are trying to jump off the lip like you would on a bank or a kicker but you can't do that on QP. You just have to have speed and air it. The reason you are getting thrown back is because when the QP starts getting vert and you try to jump, you are jumping back instead of up. Just pump low in the transition and try to float off the lip. Don't force it... just get speed.

thanks alot man im having the same exact problem.. i like try to flatten out like im doing it off a kicker insted of staying sideways for the ramp.. it feels so weird.

Yeah I have that problem too. I absolutely suck at spining. Dont worry your not alone lol !shy

that is very good advice andrew!! thnks im gonna try it next time.. i just gotta remember not to jump when im at the steep part of the qp

I've never set foot near a half pipe, lol. It's not fair! lol, but when you do a 540 does that mean you have to exit the pipe backwards or what?

i did one to fkaie at sb today.along with some other stuff i have to save for my mini which i start filin for i a copuple days cause then i get a cam

how did you do a 540 to fakie? ...did you go up the ramp in fakie or something coz that would be really hard doing a fakie 540

and maznac to answer ur question if you do a 540 out of a qp think about how many times you spin and think if you land in fakie or not!

well anyways i almost gota 540 qp to bank, its the closest ive ever got to the, before

dont worry i have only lande like 3-4 of em they are hard lol i get rotation but ya it is hard

jesus christ, ok you guys..a 540 is 1 1/2 rotations, if you do a 360 off a ramp dont you land straight? yea, so if you do another 180, which would make a 540, you land backwards (540 to fakie)...in a quarter, if you 360 you land backwards, so do another 180, you land forward

matt and coire, read that, think about it, then read it several more times and you will find your answer
