A shop sent a defected part..

There is a friend of mine who got his epic bars like this

we contacted the retailer, they said they could only defray the costs of shipping new bars to us but not defected ones to them. As for me it's not the way they should act, is it normal practice? the friend has now to wait another 3-4 weeks plus the shipping cost isn't low.
They may enclose something as compensation but they didn't mention this in an email. We'll email again

If you bitch and moan at them talking about how you don't have money and you saved up for weeks for these bars and they sent you a defective pair, they will probably pay for the shipping.

have your mom call to complain. one time when i ordered some cranks for my bike, i got 2 left crank arms, and my mom argued with the manager of dan's comp until they agreed to send me a replacement with over night shipping
