this literaly makes me angry. how the fuck does being easily distracted by lights and sounds constitute a symptom of ADHD in toddlers? have you ever seen a toddler not get easily distracted by lights and sounds? i surely havn't. to me this just proves how big pharma wants to get children hooked on their meds as soon as possible.

Methylphenidate (Ritalin), a schedule 2 substance, has a high potential for abuse and produces the same effects as cocaine or the amphetamines. Binge use, psychotic episodes, cardiovascular complications and severe psychological addiction have all been associated with methylphenidate.

That's pretty bull. My doctor said I have A.D.D. because I can't watch a full movie. I truly don't get it.

Evidence suggests that the use of the internet as a medium is causing humans to take on symptoms similar to ADHD. The lack of attention paid to other mediums such as print is causing us to develop short attention spans where if something like an article takes X amount of minutes to read, our brain begins to wander because we are so use to processing tons of information in a short amount of time.

It's very interesting, I didn't explain it half as well but it's good enough. Book is The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains by Nicholas Carr.
