Idk if you guys have said this cuz i think what ur saying is putting tape around the bars when its already put on.. but maybe put 1 or 2 layers of tape on the crossbar where if goes into stem so its bigger.. u know what i mean? so put the tape in the middle of ur crossbar when it touches.
