are you actually popping up the coping? Or hopping up? You want to actually pop up.
Other than that, all I can say is practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice practice!

Yeah, and go super fast and just commit if you get sketchy in the air put ur foot down. I love airing out it's like my favorite thing so once you can get like two feet above there's a few other ways to do it like bring your scooter way up like ur bars over ur head and your knees really bent that gets you way higher

Yeah what they said. Doing a tabletop will also kinda get you higher.. it's good to learn eurotables too

well as long as it had coping you can air on it. For some reason I did my first air on a 9ft pool quarter. Then I took it straight to a 5ft mellow as hell one, and it was easy.
If there is a bigger quarterpipe than 6ft, and its vert or almost vert, learn airs on that one.

my first few airs wer on a 6foot mini ramp, i just bumped coping and hoped for the best, but i came from bikes and could easily air first few rounds. only advice i have is just bump level and check your landing before you come down

oh also another thing i learned is control how fast you spin, cuz itll throw u off if u spin too fast

What helps me is to jump diagonally up and away from the ramp and to literally hit the coping and to "pop" off of it.
