Angle deck reinforcements

I know many people have box deck reinforcements ( alex steadman style ). Has anyone tried replacing the square tubes with 90 degree angle pieces of metal? It seems like it would make the deck stronger and reinforce the dropouts.

Does it help the dropouts from bending? And which is better the angles or the boxes

boxes are probably 2 times as strong since they are 2 90 degree angles

I meant the angle on the underside of the part that sticks out to the side of the deck

My bro has them on his scooter, facing inwards. I personally don't like the look.
