Any hope?

the reason you cant have a slit is because the scs clamps on the bars, with a slit it wont be strong because the bars will simple bend when you tighten, you can cut some fork for like 2 or the inches and out it in your bars so it doesn't happen, but thats only if you have no other option ahha.

my bad haha i couldve sworn i read inward in your first post. im really tired today, idk why.
email andrew about it if theyre wrong, then. you cant have a slit because the metal will bend in and theyll pop out of the scs. without the slit, that cant happen. stick a forktube in there and they cant fall off.

Ya the star nut isnt even that deep. I need a whole new scs now, 2 bolts striped, and the thing on the inside where the compression bolt goes broke threw from tightening it, i have no clue how ima get the fucker off. Yay, Thanks proto for making a great product with amazing instructions, oh wait there wernt any.
My srfork v.1 compression works better then this.

You're an idiot, all you need are two new bolts and a bike top cap. Make sure your top cap isn't slammed against the fork tube and it should work. If you tightened it down all the way and it still doesn't work then your star nut might be too shallow or like I said the top cap could be hitting the fork tube. If both of those are fine then you did something wrong with your headset, or your headset is just messed up. Again, put a fork tube in your bars and you'll be good to go. There are countless bmx stems that don't have instructions, because you don't need instructions. It's common sense.

call andrew and see if he will swap them out for you and if he doesnt just cut the fork tube off a old bent fork or wat ever and just shove it inside its just the same as no slit
