any of u guys plan on joining the navy, army, or air force. they keep calling to recrute me

HELL NO

i'm not dying for george bush. he was a pussy and had his daddy get him out of combat in vietnam, so i'm not going to fight in his bullshit war, since we're going to be there minimally another 2 years.

don't listen to recruiters. they'll say anything to get you to join.

yes greg... exactly. My bass teacher told me he was joining the army and I was just thinking "why would anyone want to die for george bush?"

Well he already went through PT and boot camp, now he's just training for the career in the Marines he choose, like taking classes and shit for it.

I don't personally see myself doing it.

My friend was in Iraq for awhile and got shot, and had a ton of different surgery type stuff done in georgia... then came back up here to heal for like 3 months or something. then went back to georgia for more surgery... just got back up into erie, pa recently and i drove up there and spent all after school with him. gnarly guy.

PS- it pays pretty damn good.

i'd join the military under extreme circumstances, like if someone invades our country. but still then i'd prolly just go out wit my own guns and shit and kill the enemy.

totally. if i was this age now during world war 2 i definitely would've enlisted. now is a different story though. i have no problem fighting for a just cause, i just don't see one right now.

one of my friends just got off an 18 month tour in iraq. he was in baghdad almost the whole time, and the stories he told me are just crazy. the news tells you nothing about what's really going on. and military pay is nothing compared to what you'd get if you were working a good 9-5 job in america. pension/benefits are amazing though, assuming you don't die.

check the news, there are plenty of soldiers that come back from foreign wars and there lives are ruined. years away from your family and friends, tough getting a job unless you're enlisted, no way to pay bills so you go bankrupt. it's terrible.

i'm sorry, but you guys are being unpatriotic as ---. i understand not wanting to go into the armed forces now, but never? i know if there was a draft or something i'd definitely join, i know i wouldn't like it though. but show some love for your country, if you wouldn't help this country in times of need then get the --- out. wait for andrew to post, i'm sure he has something to say on this.

my sister is in the air force, shes been in japan, germany, england, turkey, and more recently tanzania, where she fueled the President's plane lol.

and let me tell you, she isn't hurting for money right now. so i'm guessing you get paid nicely.

I don't think I could ever bring myself to possibly killing someone... Just couldn't do it unless there was a very good reason...

Im still in the process, of seeing if i can get my Felony down to a Misdemeanor(sp) The Marines are helping with that, my friend jes graduated from the Marines, and went back 2 days for Combat Training.. Ill post back here, if i get things squared away, and sign all the papers.

edit* And yea i agree with Sean to an extent. My friend nor I, signed up for the Marines to support Bushs cause and what not. Sometimes in peoples life, they hit a wall, and The Military can change peoples lives in amazing ways...however yea, you can also lose your life. But for some people, me included, its jes something that once you set your mind to it, you jes gotta do it.
