Hi, I'm new to this scooter world. My son (11, 5'-2" feet, 80 lbs) would like an upgrade from his Razor pro. If we want to spend ~300$, anything comes to mind? He mainly want to go to the park and ride it to school.

Thanks,

Fred

I personaly wouldn't ride a stunt scooter to school. It'll get stolen in 2 minutes.

These are the first ones that popped into my mind .

Very light & nice length for a 11yo

something more durable & stylish (IMO)

you can never go wrong with a MGP (It's a little heavier then the others)

These days, with a budget of $300, you can get a lot of gnarly scooters, it's all preference with what your son likes.
I went from a razor straight to a $300 scooter when I first started riding, but I made that commitment because I knew this is what I wanted to be doing, and I wasn't wrong, but make sure putting down $300 dollars for your son would be the smart decision because these days kids' interests may change a lot. If he does seem passionate about this sport you could check out either of these sites depending on where you live, two of the most reliable sites.

Vault usually just throws up everything on their site, they have the most variety, while sky high seems to only sell what they think is worthy to be sold, everything you buy from them will be high quality.

Thanks for the answers. My son as seen a Crisp Evolution HIC and definitely likes it.. Is it comparable Envy KOS, MGP 4VX or AO Delta?

Thanks again.
In my opinion, that's not really a good scooter. If your son likes crisp, get the newer 2014 models where the improved the design and strength a lot.
But ya, no go on that scooter imo.

is anyone else embarrased to ride in front of people better than them?

My friend Emilio sat down and just watched Cory ricklick ride when he came down to my local because of how intimidated he was lmao. But I'm not great but I take it as riding with better people helps me improve and push my limits lol

No its a great opportunity to learn new stuff and get to know them, this summer i was at a scooter camp and Mathias Holst, hugo svare and felix broo was there. I learnt alot from just riding with them.
