when i try them i either hop so high that i land after the end of the rail or i kiss the end. if someone could help me out on this that would be great, and I'm learning them on boxes too so if you have any suggestions just let me know

start on something smaller and just learn how to get into it at the right height (not hopping over or kissing the end). once you learn how to get into it and your weight is in the right place youre just learning how to keep your balance like with a regular boardslide, etc. alll practice ;)

but learning how to get into it in the right spot (what youre having trouble with) is the key. you could learn going 1 mph and just jumping on in the right place, then eventually speed up. most grinds I learned were the opposite (alll speed) but for this it helps to learn how to get into it the right way since your back is turned and its not really natural.

wrote a book now saying the same thing over and over but hope that helps!

going slow actually really helps for grinds that involve a lot of balance like lipslides. it helps you get a feel for how to balance it rather than just impacting the obstacle or whatever.

If you're doing it on a small flat rail and your back wheel hits, you feet will land flat on the rail and really nothing will be hurt, so you don't really have to be afraid of clipping it.

EDIT: Does someone want to be a bro and give me tips on back lip to whips?

practice coming nearly straight at it and jumping early. then just do about a 45 degree turn to your left or right depending on whether your goofy or regular so that you end up backside. the problem i think a lot of people have is that they turn 90 degrees and are pretty much riding backwards on the rail when really if you do half that it's much easier.

don't try to do a 90 onto it. only spin about 45 degrees. and dude i don't want to sound rude, but if you're landing on the end, it's pretty obvious what you need to do. jump earlier. jump before the rail starts if you have to. but it's gonna take some balls at first.

how tall is the rail you're doing it on?
